About Josie

Josie Carignan is a lifelong traveler, adventurer, and philanthropist. After witnessing the horrific effects of human trafficking, Josie founded Rescue Her, a 501(c)3 non-profit charity, in 2009. The heartbeat of Rescue Her has been to spur ordinary people to take creative action in taking a stand against human trafficking.

Rescue Her sponsors safe houses for underage victims of sex trafficking in Cambodia and India. Rescued girls receive counseling, education, employment training, and, when possible, reunification with their families. In the DFW area, Rescue Her garners community involvement through events such as the Annual Rescue Her 5K Color Run, their boutique coffee label Zoe Coffee, and Glam Girls - a local outreach to Dallas teens most at-risk of being trafficked.

Born and raised in Sweden, Josie has loved living in Texas since 2010.

Josie Carignan is the wife of Brad Carignan, whom she absolutely head over heels in love with. They have three adorable children who are the joy of her life. Together Brad and Josie pastor New Life Family Church in Euless, TX.

Josie currently travels throughout the United States speaking in conferences, civic groups, and universities about the global sex trade, sharing real-life stories of tragedy & triumph from the front lines to the Rescue Her homes.
